Mecc Alte UK has over the last two years expanded into the
full production of alternators from 16 to 340 kilowatts. With the company
moving into full production it has been absolutely vital to have access to
the database of drawings within our parent company in Italy.
The setting up of a dedicated modem link between the two sites was
easily achieved but after downloading several files it became clear we
would have a problem with the format of the received drawings. In the UK
our customers require either DXF or PDF formats for the drawings. The PDF
format is also very useful for internal use and ensures that accidental
editing of the drawings cannot happen. This initially was not possible due
to all the drawings being in MI format and also most of our staff being
unfamiliar with CAD programs.
After trawling the net to find a suitable conversion program I decided to
try PDFAssistant initially by e-mailing several drawings and then being
sent the results. I was absolutely stunned with the results and so
totally convinced that this was what we needed. I quickly decided to
go ahead with the purchase and installation of PDFAssistant. Documentation
for the program was very good and after a few teething problems with the
ME10 interface the program performed beautifully. This program is a must
for anyone wishing to convert MI to PDF files and is extremely simple to
use.
