New from version 3.0: Batch mode Automatic suggestion On-the-fly spell-checking
Instant
CAD spell-checking!

So, what do we do when we create drawings in ME10? We add our texts manually and we have to rely on enormous dictionaries, sometimes in a foreign language. The risk of making (potentially fatal) mistakes is always there. Some companies check drawings manually for spelling mistakes as part of their quality control procedure. This is fine, but it can be very time consuming and will not guarantee 100% accuracy. |
|
HotSpell is a fast and flexible spell-checking utility, developed specifically for the ME10 user. It runs on ALL the platforms that support ME10. |
HotSpell
scans the entire drawing for any kind of text, whether it's a single word,
phrase or sentence. Words found are checked against the dictionary and, if
the word is not found, you are given the opportunity to replace it with an
alternative. It is also possible to add the new word to the dictionary.
HotSpell doesn't interfere with the ordinary texting process of ME10 so any spell-checking operations may be performed on-the-fly immediately after the placement of text on the drawing. New in version 3.0 is HotSpell's ability to remember previous corrections and provide automatic suggestions! |
|
HotSpell is also equipped with a search facility to help find
the correct spelling. Equipped with an easy-to-use wild-card substitution
mechanism, searching couldn't be easier.
Results can easily be transferred to the HotSpell menu. In cases where thousands of alternative words are found, an entirely new scrolling feature has been developed. This allows easy "jump-scrolling" to anywhere in the table. |
HotSpell
options As many drawings contain texts which represent symbols, HotSpell can be forced to ignore specific fonts. Words containing numbers or matching, pre-defined structures can also be excluded. Multi-language support The spell-checking process should be familiar to all users with experience of word processing, but HotSpell has several features that make it particularly useful for users creating drawings in several languages. |
|
In fact, it is possible to change language during a spell-check routine,
just in case you have more than two languages on your drawing!
HotSpell can be supplied with dictionaries for many of the most common European languages, but unlike many other spell-checkers, HotSpell does not require a dictionary for the language being used! Dictionaries can be built-up as you go along, gradually acquiring a greater and greater vocabulary. The dictionaries can be read using a standard text editor, making dictionary maintenance easy and clear. Custom dictionaries can be managed with a secured system which allows a super-user to load new dictionary files onto a HotSpell server. |
|
Match exclusion |
Since many drawings contain many coded references to components, other drawings, standards etc., it is a good idea to be able to exclude these from the spell check. Match strings can be added, edited or deleted very easily. All match databases are stored in files for use during other spell checking sessions. Wildcards ('*' and '?') can be used to exclude certain types of texts. New from version 3.0 is the ability to make exclusion case-sensitive or not and the up- or download of existing lists from the HotSpell dictionary server. (Secured) |
Font exclusion |
Most companies use special fonts for symbols and it is useful to be able to be able to exclude these fonts from the spell check. Fonts can be added by manually entering the font name or by identifying a text/symbol on the drawing having the font in question. Any additions made to the exclusion list is kept for the next HotSpell session. New from version 3.0 is the ability to up- or download existing lists of fonts from the HotSpell server. (Secured) |
Batch
mode
NEW!
Spell-checking can be a time-consuming even with the help of tools like HotSpell. From version 3.0 it is therefore, possible to run HotSpell in batch mode. It checks all (or a limited selection of) drawings in a folder and presents the user with a list of all the incorrectly spelled words in all the drawings. The user is free to ignore all or any words or enter the correct spelling. Words can also be added to the appropriate dictionaries.
|
Automatic
suggestion
NEW!
The batch mode spelling mistake list in addition to listing all the "bad" words also lists the suggested replacement words. These words are stored from previous spell-check routines and provide the most efficient batch process possible.
