Introduction

Collaboration is an in-word. Everyone, especially those involved in design and development has heard of it.

Many are probably afraid to actually get involved with it for fear of it being too expensive. But it doesn't have to be that way.

NetMeeting is a free collaboration tool from Microsoft (yes you read it right: FREE). If you don't have it on your PC (it's included in W.98 and Win2000) it's quick to download, it's easy to install.

There are numerous websites set up to help users get started. FAQ's, how-to's etc. make NetMeeting a pleasure to use rather than a burden.

But before we go any further, what exactly is NetMeeting for?

For those who really don't know (come on - admit it!), NetMeeting allows people to "network" over the Network. The Network can be any kind of data-network. It can be the Internet you use at home or the LAN at the office. If you can attach your computer to a network you can use NetMeeting.

Once you have your computer hooked-up, NetMeeting will let you: DO ALL THIS!

With all that functionality you can save thousands of dollars by reducing traveling expenses and even more by SAVING TIME. It is also possible to use NetMeeting with a microphone and speakers thus making a phone connection unnecessary. But, it is not uncommon that people use their phones at the same time.

It's possible to add a new dimension to your professional outlook by coordinating your design, development, training and administration through collaboration. Using NetMeeting, you can share your ideas, drawings, thoughts and know-how with others simultaneously. It is amazing - it really works! Read this: NetMeeting review

For beginners, it may be difficult to find someone to test NetMeeting with. If that's the case with you, just mail us at: me10@nethut.net and we can schedule a test run.

Finally, it shouldn't take you long to find that it is sometimes a problem to change server in NetMeeting. This can be solved by using this: NetMeeting enhancer. Don't let this put you off trying NetMeeting - it's really no big deal.
